Practical Prompt 6-26-14

You finally have a moment to write, but what to do with your limited time? Here’s a practical prompt to kickstart the story you’re working on right now. The clock is ticking, people. Start writing.

Prompt: When you are writing a story, especially a novel, it is easy to get tunnel vision and focus only on the scene you are writing; but a story needs to be a cohesive unit.  Stretch the scope/perspective of your story from the first page to the last. Take something innocuous from the first act of the story and try to tie it into the climax or concluding action in a major way.  Besides helping your focus, your readers will think you are a genius.
